These Terms of Service govern your use of the PickCharge app. By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App.

1. What the App does

PickCharge helps you find and compare electric vehicle charging stations in Portugal and Spain: locations, live availability, connector types, prices, and, for your selected vehicle, estimated reachability, cost, and charging time. The App has no accounts. The App is free to use; some features require a PickCharge Premium subscription, as described in the next section.

2. Free features, Premium, and billing

Free. The map of charging stations with their prices and live availability, station search, station details, saving favourite stations, price statistics, vehicle and battery setup, and sending feedback are free and don’t require a subscription.

PickCharge Premium adds the features that depend on your vehicle, battery and electricity supplier: recommendations of the closest, cheapest, and fastest stations for your car, whether you can reach a station, estimated charging time, and the estimated final price of a charge with the supplier (CEME) plan you choose, plus push alerts when a busy charger frees up or a favourite station changes its price, and PickCharge on Android Auto. Only use the App in a car in ways the law allows: the driver should use the phone app only when parked. Alerts depend on the same public data as the rest of the App and on push delivery by Google, so one can arrive late or not at all; don’t rely on an alert as the only way to find a charger. We may add features to Premium over time. If you don’t subscribe, or your subscription ends, the free features keep working.

Premium subscriptions are billed and managed entirely through Google Play:

• Plans: monthly or annual, at the price shown in the App and in the Google Play listing at the time you subscribe. Google Play is the authoritative source for current pricing and for any free trial or promotional offer, so prices are not listed in these Terms.
• Free trial: if a plan includes a free trial, it is shown in the App before you subscribe. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged at the end of the trial.
• Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal.
• Cancellation: manage or cancel anytime in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access through the end of the period you already paid for.
• Refunds: handled under Google Play’s own refund policy. We don’t process payments or hold your payment details ourselves.
• No sign-in required: you don’t need an account to subscribe. Your Google Play purchase is verified against Google’s own records when the App requests a Premium feature, which is how Premium access is granted or revoked. See the Privacy Policy for what that check involves.

3. Estimates are estimates, not guarantees

This is the most important section. Please read it. The App helps you decide where to charge, which means its numbers can influence a real driving decision. You should understand their limits:

• Station data comes from a third-party source: MOBI.E, Portugal’s national EV charging network, through the National Access Point operated on behalf of IMT. We don’t control that data, and it can be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. A charger showing “available” may no longer be free by the time you arrive, and a listed price may have changed. In Spain, station and price data comes from Mapa REVE, the official map run by Red Eléctrica for the Spanish government; it covers the chargers that report dynamic data, prices are refreshed about once an hour, and there is no live availability.
• Final prices depend on supplier data we check monthly. Supplier (CEME) prices come from ERSE’s public list of e-mobility offers and are checked about once a month, so your supplier may have changed its price since, or may apply discounts, fees or campaigns that aren’t in that list. Taxes and fees are applied as published at the time. Your supplier’s invoice is what you actually pay.
• Distance and reachability estimates use straight-line distance, not actual road distance. Real driving distance can be meaningfully longer, especially in cities or hilly terrain.
• Cost and charging-time estimates use typical figures: average consumption, and a typical fast-charging curve for your car model rather than its real-time behaviour, which depends on temperature, battery condition and the charger. Actual cost and time can differ from the estimate.
• Always leave a safety margin. Don’t rely on the App’s estimated battery level on arrival as a guarantee you’ll reach a charger. Factor in your own judgment, driving style, weather, and terrain.

This information is provided “as is,” without warranty of accuracy, and we are not liable for consequences of relying on it, including being unable to reach a charging station.

4. Your data

The App requests your device location and stores a vehicle profile, consisting of your vehicle model and battery percentage, to give you personalized results. That information stays on your device and isn’t stored on our servers. See the Privacy Policy for full details on what’s collected and how it’s used.

5. Acceptable use

Don’t use the App to scrape, resell, or redistribute the underlying station data at scale, attempt to disrupt or overload our backend service, share your Premium access in a way Google Play’s terms don’t permit, or reverse-engineer the App beyond what’s permitted by applicable law.

6. Third-party services

The App displays map tiles from OpenStreetMap and charging station data sourced from the public feeds of MOBI.E and IMT (Portugal) and Red Eléctrica’s Mapa REVE (Spain), and can hand off navigation to Google Maps or Waze. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms, where applicable.

7. No warranty, limitation of liability

The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including being stranded with insufficient charge, financial loss from an inaccurate price estimate, or lost time from an unavailable or incorrectly listed charger. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited under applicable law.

8. Changes to the App or these Terms

We may change, suspend, or discontinue the App, or update these Terms, at any time. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above when we do. Material changes, including to subscription pricing or plans, will be called out in the App’s release notes or shown in the App before they take effect.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If you are a consumer living in the European Union, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country of residence.
