These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of PickCharge (the “App”), provided by PickCharge (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App.

1. What the App does

PickCharge helps you find and compare electric vehicle charging stations in Portugal: locations, live availability, connector types, prices, and (for your selected vehicle) estimated reachability, cost, and charging time. The App has no accounts — access is subscription-based, described in the next section.

2. Subscription and billing

PickCharge requires an active subscription to use — there is no free tier. Subscriptions are billed and managed entirely through Google Play:

• Plans: monthly or annual, at the price shown in the App and in the Google Play listing at the time you subscribe. We don’t hardcode prices in these Terms because Google Play, not this document, is the authoritative source for current pricing and any trial or promotional offer.
• Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal.
• Cancellation: manage or cancel anytime via Google Play > Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access through the end of the period you already paid for.
• Refunds: handled under Google Play’s own refund policy — we don’t process payments or hold your payment details ourselves.
• No accounts, still: we don’t require sign-in to subscribe. Your Google Play purchase is verified against Google’s own records each time the App requests data, which is how access is granted or revoked — see our Privacy Policy for what that check involves.

3. Estimates are estimates, not guarantees

This is the most important section — please read it. The App helps you decide where to charge, which means its numbers can influence a real driving decision. You should understand their limits:

• Station data comes from a third-party source — Portugal’s national EV charging network (MOBI.E), via the National Access Point operated on behalf of IMT. We don’t control that data, and it can be incomplete, delayed, or wrong (a charger showing “available” may not be by the time you arrive; a listed price may have changed).
• Distance and reachability estimates use straight-line distance, not actual road distance — real driving distance can be meaningfully longer, especially in cities or hilly terrain.
• Cost and charging-time estimates use average power and consumption figures, not your vehicle’s real-time charging curve — actual cost and time can differ from the estimate.
• Always leave a safety margin. Don’t rely on the App’s arrival-state- of-charge estimate as a guarantee you’ll reach a charger — factor in your own judgment, driving style, weather, and terrain.

We provide this information “as is,” without warranty of accuracy, and are not liable for consequences of relying on it — including, without limitation, being unable to reach a charging station.

4. Your data

The App requests your device location and stores a vehicle profile (vehicle model, battery percentage) to give you personalized results. See our Privacy Policy for details on what’s collected and how it’s used — in short, that information stays on your device and isn’t stored on our servers.

5. Acceptable use

Don’t use the App to scrape, resell, or redistribute the underlying station data at scale, attempt to disrupt or overload our backend service, share your subscription access in a way Google Play’s terms don’t permit, or reverse-engineer the App beyond what’s permitted by applicable law.

6. Third-party services

The App displays map tiles from OpenStreetMap and charging station data sourced from MOBI.E/IMT’s public feeds. Your use of those is also subject to their own terms, where applicable.

7. No warranty, limitation of liability

The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including being stranded with insufficient charge, financial loss from an inaccurate price estimate, or lost time from an unavailable or incorrectly-listed charger.

8. Changes to the App or these Terms

We may change, suspend, or discontinue the App, or update these Terms, at any time. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above when we do; material changes — including to subscription pricing or plans — will be called out in the App’s release notes or shown in the App before they take effect.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. (Placeholder — confirm with a legal professional once the developer entity/jurisdiction is finalized.)
